The Dance of Development

Based on the books:

Nurturing Essence: A Compass for Essential Parenting

&

The Enneagram World of the Child: Nurturing Resilience and Self-Compassion in Early Life

Nurturing Essence
Enneagram World of the Child book cover

This experiential course explores how early emotional conditions shape the formation of personality and relational patterns. Children do not become who they are through instruction alone. They develop through the emotional ecosystem that surrounds them—through the subtle signals of belonging, recognition, attunement, and acceptance.

In this workshop, we explore:

Four Emotional Roots of Personality

Fear & Anger
Shame & Superego

Two Driving Forces in Development

Belonging
Being Seen

Two Liberating Dynamics

Curiosity
Acceptance

Parents, therapists, Enneagram practitioners, and anyone interested in human development will gain a deeper understanding of how personality forms and how awareness can reopen developmental pathways later in life.

This course is not about labeling children with Enneagram types. It is about understanding the conditions that shape the inner world of the child and how those same conditions continue influencing us as adults.

Aligning with the Process of Transformation

Based on the books:

The Enneagram as Living Process

The Enneagram & The Arc of Transformation

Enneagram Living Process book cover
Enneagram and Arc of Transformation

While the first workshop explores how personality forms, this second workshop explores how transformation unfolds.

The Enneagram is often taught as a system of personality types. But historically, it was introduced as a symbol of process—a map showing how experience organizes itself, stabilizes into pattern, and can eventually reorganize through awareness.

In this workshop we explore:

The Enneagram as Living Process

How patterns form through repetition and emotional meaning

The Inner Triangle as Force

Action
Receptivity
Presence

The Arc of Transformation

How awareness enters the system at key moments, allowing personality to reorganize rather than repeat.

Participants will explore how patterns stabilize, how they loosen, and how transformation occurs—not through effort alone, but through recognition and presence.

This workshop is particularly suited for:

  • Enneagram teachers and practitioners
  • Diamond Approach students
  • Therapists and coaches
  • Anyone interested in the deeper mechanics of inner transformation

Why These Workshops Matter

Whether you are a parent, practitioner, or simply a curious human being, your early emotional environment shaped how you learned to belong, how you learned to be seen, and how you learned to organize your experience.

Those early conditions did not disappear. They became the architecture of personality.

But the same forces that shaped the pattern can also open the door to transformation.

Understanding the dance of development allows us to see those forces clearly—and to participate in the unfolding of our own growth with greater awareness and compassion.
